Prairie Carriage Driving Club ---- Wolf Willow Ranch ---- ….. August 28, 2011……
On a great summer afternoon, the Club gets together for a TREC FOR CANCER that had been planned back in the final weeks of 2010, and then postponed by a week due to conflicts with other events. Thanks to a little help from Mother Nature we have had a pretty warm summer, after a spring that started out a little on the wet side, but it would have been pretty hard to custom order a nicer day than we experienced this past Sunday. To everyone who showed up on Sunday, with or without a horse, thanks for making this a great day that we can hopefully build on for the rest of the year. Thanks for the fact that we once again set a new record in donations to a worthy cause. To those of you who were unable to make we do have some pictures thanks to Mendelt Pauw. Hopefully next time you’ll be able to make it and get some pictures of your own. I know I did … but not to add much to the shots that Mendelt was able provide for our website; thanks for that Juliane. The attached spreadsheet is the result of timing and recording skills Mendelt, Stan Humeny and your other humble servant. At the risk of missing someone I would like to acknowledge those in attendance. The drivers who went the “extra mile” and showed up with their horses included Sue Hunt, Juliane Deubner, Margo Miller, Bill Humeny and Dave Sim. The always valued support staff included Cathy and Mendelt Pauw, Lisa and Brandi Samoleski riding their horses, Margo Miller’s daughter Jodi, Stan Humeny and Rick Kroczynski. And due to a scheduling and miscommunication glitch Moira Remmen made it just in time for the Social and more importantly, for the burgers done to his usual perfection by our host Bill Humeny. Thanks for that Bill. And thanks goes to all those who contributed to the great lunch and drinks. If I have made any errors in fact or spelling I would appreciate the input. Terry P. – Sec.

I would like to give a big Thank You to Bill Humeny for the use of his arena on Mar 22/09 for our longlining session the temperature out of the wind in the arena was perfect for those of us working on the sand. And, it was a great opportunity for the young horses involved to experience the strange surroundings as well as the trailering away from home and standing while we had some social time. Thanks to all that turned out, socializing as well as working with the horses.
